Sept. 25 – Captain Hunter will discuss current drug trends, including the most popular drugs popular drugs in Allen County. He will show pictures of those drugs and give detailed explanations of some of the trends, such as THC Vaping and THC Wax. He will cover all forms of Opiates, Meth, Cocaine, Spice, and all forms of THC/Marijuana. He will also discuss overdose stats and drug seizure stats in Allen County.
About the Presenter:
Captain Kevin Hunter has worked for the Fort Wayne Police Department since 1989. He is currently in charge of the Vice and Narcotics division. Captain Hunter is a graduate of the 233rd Session of the FBI National Academy and the FBI National Crisis Negotiation Course. He holds a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and a master's degree in Organizational Leadership from Indiana Tech, where he is currently an adjunct instructor.
Captain Hunter is a member of the Fort Wayne/Allen County Opioid Task Force and believes that the opioid epidemic is one of the biggest problems facing our community today. The opioid epidemic is not something we will be able to "arrest our way out of," and by working together with the courts, public health, addiction specialists, and other community members we can help address the seriousness of this issue.
