Trainer: Elesia Hines (PsyD, HSPP), Clinical Psychologist at Riley Hospital for Children

This training will provide an overview of the Ages and Stages Questionnaire, Third Edition (ASQ-3) and the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers, Revised, with Follow Up (M-CHAT-R/F). The ASQ-3 is a general developmental screener for children ages 1 month to 5½ years. It screens a child’s communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving, and personal-social skills. The M-CHAT-R/F is an autism screening tool for children ages 16-30 months. The training will provide an introduction to both screening tools as well as how to administer, score, and interpret the screeners.

CASA Volunteers will be equipped to intentionally look for developmental delays and signs of autism in young children, and, when a problem is noted, make recommendations for First Steps or other services.
